History of the Vineyards
In 2022, Nancy and Mark Kaufman embarked on a journey to create exceptional wines by purchasing the Kaufman Vineyards, nestled in the picturesque Calabasas Mountain. This small, 3/4-acre vineyard is home to 40-year-old Syrah vines, which impart a unique flavor and taste profile to each batch of wine.
When Nancy and Mark acquired the vineyard, it was in disrepair, with neglected vines and overgrown stubs. With dedication and hard work, they revitalized the vineyard through extensive pruning and careful nurturing, breathing new life into the vines. Their commitment to quality and tradition shines through in every bottle they produce.
The Kaufmans focus on small-batch production from organic grapes, crafting three bottlings per year, including their renowned Rose’ Wine, Syrah, and Syrah Réserve. Each bottle is a testament to their passion for winemaking and their respect for the land.
The unique location of Kaufman Wines benefits from the hot San Fernando sun and refreshing ocean breezes from the nearby Malibu Coast, creating the perfect conditions for growing exceptional grapes. Bottled in Camarillo, California, their wines reflect the harmony of nature and craftsmanship.
